How it works

Frequently asked questions
- Will resizing make my image blurry?
- Making an image smaller is safe and usually looks sharper than the original at that size. Making it larger cannot add detail that was never captured, so anything above 100 percent will look soft. The tool uses high-quality smoothing, which avoids the jagged edges a basic resize produces.
- Does it keep the proportions?
- Yes, by default. Type a width and the height follows. If you need an exact size in both directions and do not mind the image stretching, untick 'Keep the original proportions' — though cropping is usually the better answer than distorting.
- What format do I get back?
- The same one you put in. A JPG comes back as a JPG, a PNG as a PNG. Resizing a photo should not hand you a file several times larger because the format changed underneath you.
- Can I resize several images at once?
- Yes. Drop as many as you like and download the results as a single ZIP. Batches scale by percentage rather than to a fixed pixel size, since applying one width to images of different shapes gives inconsistent results.
- Is there a file size limit?
- No limit is imposed, but everything is processed by your own device, so a very large batch of high-resolution photos depends on how much memory your browser has available.
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. Resizing happens entirely in your own browser using the Canvas API. The files never leave your device, and nothing is stored.
